kju:bar
Since revitalization of the Stadtbahnbögen near the WU, the kju: bar has been a fixed star in Viennas party universe, being one of the few places to be crowded during weekdays as well. No cover charge, daily specials and fair cocktails.

Gnadenlos
When entering the Gnadenlos in the very center of the city (in the so called Bermudadreieck), you’ll find a small bar, nothing else. But wait till you descend to the party cellar: an amazing maze, packed on weekends! Very close to Schwedenplatz.

Charlie P’s
Take a typical Irish pub, add a dancefloor in the basement and special drink prices for students – and you got a pretty unique party location! Seen at Charlie P’s Irish Pub (near the University at Schottentor), a popular student and expat hangout.

Down Under

Passage
Currently one of the hippest places in town, the Passage used to be a pedestrian underpass before being converted to a club. Rather posh crowd, motto and music (mostly mainstream) depending on night. It might be wise to dress up a bit…

Fledermaus
A cosy club in the very center of the city, Fledermaus features a lot of specials ranging from to 60ies and 70ies (Sun) over rock (Fri) to various parties on Sat (check out the website for details).

Flex
Often rated “finest club in town”, the Flex definitely is a place that polarizes. Heaven for the alternative crowd and a scummy hole for the snobs… Try the popular London Calling (alternative/indie) on Wednesdays. Located right at the waterfront.

Chelsea
Being one of the most popular venues for retro and alternative music, the Chelsea is regularily packed on weekend nights. Good atmosphere, nice prices and relaxed door policy – thus somewhat really crowded! Small outdoor patio.

Volksgarten
